Soldier wounded in Nagorno-Karabakh dies
Garik Vardanyan, a soldier of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, wounded under the shelling from the Azerbaijani side, died at a hospital in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 31, 2016, the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD reported that the Azerbaijani side shelled the Karabakh positions from mortar launchers. The Azerbaijani side has accused the enemy in the machine gun fire. Garik Vardanyan was seriously wounded during the shelling in the north-eastern section of the contact line of troops, reports the Armenian MoD. The soldier's state was assessed as extremely severe.
At about 11:35 p.m. local time of January 15, Garik Vardanyan died at the Yerevan central clinical military hospital. This has been reported today by the website of the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD.
