Relatives of resident of Chegem killed in special operation achieve sending his case to court
The criminal case against a resident of the city of Chegem, who was killed, according to power agents, in an armed clash with policemen in 2013, was sent to the Supreme Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR). His relatives demand to rehabilitate him, the press service of the KBR's Prosecutor's Office reports.
The man, born in 1975, is accused of assaulting law enforcers, and illegal possession, carrying and transportation of firearms and ammunition.
According to investigators, in December 2013, in the Chegem District, policemen tried to stop the car, driven by the defendant, but he tried to escape, threw a grenade in the direction of law enforcers, opened fire and was killed by response fire.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 16, 2013, in the village of Lechinkai, Chegem District of the KBR, according to power agents, law enforcers stopped a car for inspection, but the driver threw a grenade at them. As a result of the response fire the car exploded; and the person inside it died. Nauruz Tatarokov, the father of the perished Leon Tatarokov, doubted the official version of his son's death and stated that Leon was not a supporter of the armed underground.
