Krasnodar Territorial Court to consider case against visually impaired man accused of double murder

Mark Yavorsky, sentenced in Sochi for the murder of two men, has claimed that the real killers are at large, while he is just a witness of the conflict which occurred in a building of the abandoned sanatorium "Moscow". The defence filed an appeal, and the case transferred to the Krasnodar Regional Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2015, Mark Yavorsky together with his girlfriend Yana went to the building of the abandoned sanatorium "Moscow" in Sochi, which became a shelter for several people who came from other regions in search for jobs. They had a conflict with Mark Yavorsky, in which two men were killed and another was injured. The court sentenced Mark Yavorsky to eight years of imprisonment.

Mark Yavorsky insists on his innocence. According to him, he witnessed the start of the conflict, involving men living at the sanatorium "Moscow" who fought for the money.

"We are concerned about the fact that the real killers are at large and, perhaps, it is not the first and not the last murder committed by them... Why do investigators file the charge of the murder against the innocent disabled teenager who is not physically able to kill two adult men and beat the third man," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Oksana Yavorskaya, the mother of the sentenced teenager.

Mark Yavorsky is a visually impaired person, and he is diagnosed with "optic atrophy in both eyes.

"After the New Year holidays, the Krasnodar Regional Court will proceed to review the criminal case of the double murder in Sochi," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Alexandra Nechukina, an assistant to Judge Irina Klimenko from the Khosta District Court.
