Consulate reports sending body of casualty of Istanbul terror act to Baku
An Azerbaijani Nurana Gasanova fell victim to the terror act committed at a nightclub in Istanbul. She had Russian citizenship; however, her body will be sent for burial to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, said the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that two Azerbaijani citizens suffered in the terror act in Istanbul. A man and a woman were injured and hospitalized. After receiving help, the woman was discharged from the hospital.
An armed attack on a night club "Reina" in Istanbul was committed at the New Year's night. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Turkey, 39 people were killed, and other 69 were wounded. Suleiman Soilu, the MIA head, said that 21 dead bodies 16 of which belong to foreigners had been identified.
The Azerbaijani Nurana Gasanova is among the casualties. "As a result of a cynical terror act in Istanbul a Russian citizen Nurana Gasanova was killed," says a report posted today on the page of the Russian Embassy to Turkey on the Twitter.
The body of Nurana Gasanova will be sent to Azerbaijan after making the relevant documents, the Consulate General has informed.
