Journalist killed in Ingushetia

TV presenter Amir Kokurkhoev, the spokesman for the Sunzha District administration in Ingushetia, died in hospital from a stab wound.

According to a source from the regional law enforcement bodies, Amir Kokurkhoev was attacked by a resident of the Sunzha District, who lived next door to the victim.

Amir Kokurkhoev was taken to resuscitation ward of the hospital with a knife wound, and later he died there. A team of field investigators are examining the place where the attack occurred, the "Interfax" reports today with reference to its source.

    Three policemen from Ingushetia, accused of using violence against a detainee and extortion, have been released. The Supreme Court (SC) of Ingushetia has explained that the period specified by law for the preliminary investigation had expired and their further detention is illegal.
