Armenia states diversion attempt by Azerbaijan

This morning, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces attempted a sabotage penetration into the territory of Armenia, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

The incident occurred to the south-east of the village of Chinari, Tavush Region, Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the Armenian MoD, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, sniper guns and grenade launchers are used in the incident.

"Armed clashes continue; the units of the Armenian Armed Forces are fully controlling the situation," Mr Ovannisyan said.

Also today, Azerbaijan stated 39 cases of shelling of its positions from the Armenian side committed during the past 24 hours, adding that the shelling was delivered, in particular, from the villages of Paravakar, Aigepar and Movses (also known as Mosesgegh).
