Magomedov’s acquaintances tell court that he received threats from extremists (+video)

Today, the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala, has held a session within the consideration of the lawsuit lodged by Magomed Magomedov, a former official representative of the mosque located in Hungarian Warriors Street, who demanded to remove him from the so-called “prophylactic registration”, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Magomedov is suspected of illegal possession of weapons and drugs. On May 23, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan cancelled the decision on the Magomed Magomedov's arrest. Advocate Shamil Isaev has stated that Magomed Magomedov pleads not guilty. On November 16, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala started the consideration of the claim filed by Magomed Magomedov against the MIA with a request to exclude his name from the prophylactic registration list.

Under the petition of Magomedov’s advocates, the court has summoned, as witnesses, Akhmed Chililov, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan and of the public council of the above mosque and the founder of the newspaper "Novoye Delo"; and Abdulvagab Akhmedov, the Imam of the sectoral mosque of the Chief Department for Dagestan of the Russia’s Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).

Akhmed Chililov has characterized Magomed Magomedov as a person, who "always supported and opposed Islamic radical movements." He has treated the arguments of power agents, on the basis of which Magomedov was put on the above “prophylactic registration” as “an absolute absurdity."

"I’ve known Magomed Magomedov for more than two years as a man, who rejects all the radical movements. Magomedov has condemned radical organizations and urged young people not to join them," Akhmed Chililov has told the court.

"In response to this, he has repeatedly received threats from extremists. He was told that the Imam of the mosque in Hungarian Warriors Street and his aides would be killed first," said Akhmed Chililov.
