Vasiliev appeals against refusal to annul election outcomes in Sochi

Igor Vasiliev, the leader of the Sochi branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), has sent an appeal to the Russian Supreme Court against the decision of the Krasnodar   Territorial Court, which refused to cancel the State Duma election outcome at the single-mandate constituency No. 50. Vasiliev asks to cancel the decision and satisfy his claim, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by voting on September 18, eight single-mandate MPs were elected to the State Duma from the Krasnodar Territory. In Sochi constituency No. 50, Konstantin Zatulin, the Director of the CIS Institute, nominated by the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party, was elected to the State Duma by gaining 63.46% of votes. Igor Vasiliev, the head of the local CPRF branch, declared election violations in Sochi and disagreed with the voting outcomes. Vasiliev lodged an administrative claim to the Territorial   Court against the Sochi election commission demanding to cancel the election outcomes because of violations. On October 20, the first instance court refused to satisfy his claim in full. The claimant then stated his intention to appeal against the decision.

On November 21, Igor Vasiliev filed an appeal complaint against the decision of the Krasnodar Territorial   Court dated October 20, asking to cancel it and make a new decision on his claim.

The complaint was sent by mail to the Russia's Supreme Court, Mr Vasiliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
