"EcoWatch" demands to cancel public hearing in Krasnodar

Leaders of the "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) have appealed to the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory with the demand to cancel the public hearing on the general development plan of Krasnodar. Officials announce that the public hearing will not be postponed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the public hearing on the draft amendments to the general development plan of Krasnodar is scheduled for November 15. Members of the Krasnodar social movement "Help the City" appealed to the authorities with a request to postpone the public hearing.

In their appeal to Governor Veniamin Kondratiev, Andrei Rudomakha and Dmitry Shevchenko, the leaders of the "EcoWatch", have stated that "the Krasnodar city administration try to seize from city residents extensive areas of green areas through the approval of materials to amend the general development plan of Krasnodar."

According to the leaders of the "EcoWatch", the appeal is aimed to "protect the green areas of Krasnodar from greedy desires of developers and officials."
