In Volgograd Region, law enforcers detain men suspected of financing militants

According to the Volgograd FSB Department, three detainees are members of an organized grouping, involved in the financial support of international terrorist organizations, including those active in the territory of Syria.

The suspects were detained in the territory of the Oktyabrsky District of the Volgograd Region. According to Natalia Gryaznova, the press secretary of the Volgograd FSB Department, the detainees are members of the "Oktyabrsky Jamaat".

Natalia Gryaznova has also added that an improvised explosive device (IED) and an item resembling a grenade were found at the place of the detainees' residence. Besides, FSB agents seized narcotic substance of vegetable origin.

A criminal case has been instituted on promotion of terrorist activities, the "Interfax-South" reports.
