SC commutes Ella Kesaeva's sentence for her protest action in Beslan
The actions of Ella Kesaeva, the leader of the committee "Voice of Beslan", during the protest are reclassified, and therefore, her punishment is commuted from corrective labour to a minimal fine.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 1, female activists of the "Voice of Beslan", including Ella Kesaeva, came out to a protest action. They were wearing T-shirts with the accusations against President Putin. The women, who were taken hostages and lost their children in the Beslan terror act, were detained and sentenced to corrective labour.
Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of North Ossetia has partially granted the complaint filed by Ella Kesaeva and agreed to reclassify the case from Article "Organization of uncoordinated action" to Article "Violation of prescribed order for holding an action."
Taking into account the above, the SC has pronounced the decision to cancel the Ella Kesaeva's sentence to 20 hours of corrective labour and obliged to pay only a fine of 10,000 roubles.
