In Buynaksk, four CPRF supporters declare resumption of hunger strike

Four hunger strikers decided to continue their protest action with the demand to cancel the results of the elections for the People's Assembly of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28, supporters and activists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) declared a hunger strike in Buynaksk with the demand to review the election results. On October 16, the number of hunger-strikers reduced to eight persons. On October 17, the health state of the hunger-strikers deteriorated, and on October 18, they announced the suspension of their protest action.

Kamil Shakhbulatov, the leader of the Buynaksk CPRF's branch, has explained that some protestors, including Kamil Nurudinov, Magomedtagir Rizvanov, Akhmed Beibulatov, and Mukhtar Magomedov, decided to continue the protest action at the building of the aggregate plant.

According to Gerei Sadykov, he was brought to hospital in a state near to heart attack provoked by the hunger strike and exhaustion.

Magomedzakir Nurulvaraev was diagnosed with "pneumonia."

Earlier, Zakarya Amirov, Mayor of Buynaksk, has described the hunger strike as "harmful and destabilizing." According to him, the hunger-strikers pursue an aim to divert people's attention from "more acute problems."
