Volgograd pensioner asks to repair her apartment after communal accident

Since May, Valentina Trostyanskaya, a co-author of the panorama project "Battle of Stalingrad", has to stay in a dilapidated apartment, which was flooded after a communal accident, when a pipe burst. The pensioner requests to carry out a complete repair of her apartment; however, the management company has organized only whitewashing of the walls and the ceiling. Neighbours of Valentina Trostyanskaya also suffering damage from the accident, is now suing the company.

On October 11, 2016, Valentina Trostyanskaya showed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent her apartment located on the seventh floor of the house in No. 10 inKomsomolskaya Street. On May 15, a heating pipe burst at the upper storey of the building, and hot water flooded the apartment of Valentina Trostyanskaya and apartments of her neighbours living below. At the Valentina Trostyanskaya's apartment, floor in the kitchen and in the hallway collapses, some floor boards are broken; ceiling and walls are wet, and plaster covering is crumbling away. The doors are barely closed because of dampness.

"I have several times addressed to the municipal management company (MMC), in oral and in writing. I demanded to eliminate the consequences of the communal accident. For four months, they only whitewashed the ceiling and the walls in the kitchen of my apartment. Meanwhile, the floors have not been repaired. And they are to be replaced, because they are destroyed to dust," said Valentina Trostyanskaya.

The city authorities prefer to ignore the problems of Valentina Trostyanskaya, who deserves immediate help in recognition of her services to the city. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by architect Galina Shipilova, an expert of the human rights organization "Public Movement for Preservation of Cultural Heritage".
