Adaptation commission stands for KBR resident who returned from Syria

The Republic's Commission for Adaptation of Former Militants to Peaceful Life has decided to claim indulgence to a resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), who was detained in Nalchik after his arrival by air from Syria.

The Commission's sitting was held today in the building of the KBR's Government, where it considered the petition of N., born in 1996, who is under investigation for his participation in armed formations in the territory of a foreign country.

According to the edition, in October 2014, the above resident went to Syria, where he became a member of the "Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar" grouping. In his petition, he noted that in Syria he helped militants, but did not take part in the warfare.

On March 13, 2015, he returned to Nalchik and was detained by law enforcers at the airport. His advocate Zamir Kochesokov told the Commission that after return to Nalchik his client "actively cooperated with investigators and sincerely repented of his actions."

As a result, according to the edition, the Committee decided to ask the court for clemency in relation to the man, who returned from Syria.
