More than 100 people attend performance after Anna Politkovskaya's texts

Today, in Moscow, the performance "A journalist. Whole life in a second", based on interviews and publications of Yuri Schekochikhin and Anna Politkovskaya, correspondents of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta", has completed in discussion held in the format of "open mike".

The performance directed by Irina Mikheishina, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya and the memory of Yuri Schekochikhin, who suddenly died in 2003, opens a series of performances of "Theatre of Documentary Journalism". According to actor Dmitri Maksimenkov, the other performances of the series will be focused on journalists Vlad Listyev, Alexander Kaverznev, Dmitry Kholodov, and Artyom Borovik.

The performance was attended by more than 100 people. According to Nadezhda Azhgikhina, the secretary of the Russian Union of Journalists, the aim of the organizers was "to perpetuate the freedom of expression and journalistic courage," reports the website of the "European Federation of Journalists" (EFJ).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, participants of the action in memory of Anna Politkovskaya held in Lermontov Square in Moscow have read out excerpts from articles written by murdered Russian journalists.
