Russian Ministry of Sports promises to look into situation with children's MMA fights in Grozny

Organizers of the competitions in mixed martial arts (MMA), with performances of children, including sons of Ramzan Kadyrov, will be asked to submit the information about participants of the tournament. After that, the investigation into the competitions will take place. This was stated by Pavel Kolobkov, Russian Deputy Minister of Sports. In response to criticism from MMA officials, subordinates of Ramzan Kadyrov noted that the fights were a PR-action and that no harm was inflicted to health of children.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, in Grozny, the Grand Prix Akhmat-2016 tournament in mixed martial arts (MMA) involved the children's performances, won by three sons of Ramzan Kadyrov, ten, nine and eight years old.

According to the rules of competitions under the auspices of the Russian MMA Union, tournaments allow involving children from 12 years old.

The children's fights were condemned by Vadim Finkelstein, the president of the International Association of Mixed Martial Arts (WMMAA), and Fedor Emelianenko, the president of the Russian MMA Union.

Subordinates of Ramzan Kadyrov saw no cruelty in the tournament. According to Timur Dugazaev, the Ramzan Kadyrov's representative in Europe, General Director of the "Akhmat Promotion", the children showed in public what they were doing on a daily basis. Timur Dugazaev has also assured that the mixed style fights are not violent.

Abuzaid Vismuradov, President of "Akhmat" Fight Club, believes that the president of the Russian MMA Union does not have sufficient standing to judge the events in Grozny.
