Two activists of NGO "Free Zone" detained in Tbilisi

In Tbilisi, Mariam Basharauli and Vazha Morgoshiya, activists of the NGO "Free Zone", were detained by agents of the Georgian State Security Service (SSS).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported on October 8, Georgia will hold the parliamentary elections. The authorities expect that the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party will try to destabilize the situation in Georgia on the eve of the elections.

The NGO "Free Zone" is associated with the "United National Movement" (UNM), the party of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

The "Georgia-Online" reports that the activists' detention is associated with the "audio record of a phone conversation disseminated on the Internet, in which Mikhail Saakashvili and "UNM" members were discussing a revolutionary scenario in the country."

The audio record of the phone conversation is available for listening on the YouTube channel of the "Creative Georgia News". In the record, a man with a voice similar to the voice of Mikhail Saakashvili offers his associates to calculate the costs for long-term action to block access to the building of the Georgian Parliament. The man also states that he "has a ready plan of a coup d'etat."

Mikhail Saakashvili himself has called the audio record a "bad forgery."
