For his refusal to resign, Takhir Murdalov, the Acting Chairman of the Supreme Court (SC) of the Chechen Republic, was beaten up by Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the local Parliament, the "Kavkaz.Realii" (Realities of the Caucasus) reports; the information was confirmed by sources of the "Novaya Gazeta".

On October 6, Daudov arrived to the building of the SC, which was cordoned off by about 40 people. The Speaker attacked Murdalov in his office, demanding to retire under the motive "of poor health", the "Kavkaz.Realii" writes. According to sources, Murdalov refused to obey.

Moreover, according to the edition, Daudov threatened to kill Murdalov.

The "Novaya Gazeta" reports that Kadyrov's attempts to put the Chechen SС under his full control became "the first demonstration act of independence from the federal centre."
