Igor Vasiliev demands to declare elections in Sochi invalid

Igor Vasiliev, the leader of the Sochi branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), has filed to the Krasnodar Regional Court a claim for cancellation of the results of the election of a deputy to the State Duma in a single-mandate district No. 50.

Voting at the elections to the State Duma were held in Russia on the united voting day – September 18.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Igor Vasiliev that the claim had been filed because of violations committed, in particular, during the voting outside polling stations. So, Igor Vasiliev believes that the time taken from a brigade to visit people who voted at home did not correspond to the number of voters.

"It takes at least 10-15 minutes to write an application for issuing a ballot, fill in passport data and details, and then fill in a ballot and drop it in a ballot box, together with movement to a different address to visit another voter. Meanwhile, according to the acts, during three or four hours, about 100 people voted beyond premises of polling stations," explained Igor Vasiliev.

Despite the claims of violations, ballots from mobile voting boxes were mixed with ballots from the stationary ballot box. And that fact makes it impossible to determine the result of the legitimate expression of the will of voters, concludes Igor Vasiliev.

According to his story, on the voting day, observers noticed that at the electoral districts No. 46-46, absentee ballots were given out to unidentified persons failed to submit written applications, and at the electoral district No. 46-52, voting ballots were repeatedly given out to people with no local registration or absentee ballots.

Igor Vasiliev claims that the complaints about the violations filed to the Regional Election Commission were ignored.
