In Sochi, leaders of three parties express their disagreement with election results

In Sochi, leaders of local branches of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), "Yabloko" and "Rodina" Parties have explained the defeat at the elections by violations and falsifications.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the voting at the elections to the State Duma were held in Russia on the united voting day – September 18.

On September 28, the premises of the Sochi branch of the CPRF hosted a press conference, at which members of opposition parties reported on 29 lawsuits filed following the results of the elections.

Igor Vasiliev, the leader of the local branch of the CPRF, has claimed that the election results "were secured by municipal officials." He has also reported about the falsifications, which involved chairs of election commissions of different levels.

Igor Vasiliev has also again reproached Konstantin Zatulin, a candidate of the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party on a single-mandate electoral district, who won the elections thanks to the use of administrative resource.

Iren Ilyenkova, the leader of the Sochi branch of the "Yabloko" Party, has claimed she treats the elections as illegitimate because of falsifications and the use of administrative resource.

"Year by year, from elections to elections, falsifications become even more sophisticated," said Iren Ilyenkova. She has also added that the "Yabloko" Party will seek the cancellation of the election results.

Vladimir Melnikov, a member of the "Rodina" Party, has reported about pressure on him during the election campaign.

"At first, I was removed from the elections by the court decision by far-fetched grounds, and then, again through the court, they decided to deprive me of my single shelter and demolish the house that I bought," Vladimir Melnikov told the audience.
