In Rostov Region, policeman suspected of beating local resident to obtain his confession

Investigators suspect a policeman of abuse of power with use of violence. The investigators believe that the suspect has beaten a resident of the farm yard Boguny of the Chertkovo District and unreasonably used a stunning device against him.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the police inspector of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), when being engaged in the investigation into a report about stolen property in the Boguchar District of the Voronezh Region, arrived in the farm yard of Boguny of the Rostov Region and started demanding from a local resident to confess to the crime.

After the victim had refused to confess to the crime, the policeman beat him with hands and feet and used a stunning device against him, reported on September 26 the website of the Prosecutor's Office for the Rostov Region.

A criminal case has been instituted against the policeman for abuse of power, reports the Prosecutor's Office for the Rostov Region.
