Chechen policeman dismissed from MIA for opening fire at wedding party

In Chechnya, a staff member of a private security division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has been dismissed for opening fire from a submachine gun at a wedding party.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learned from an official of the Chechen MIA that several days ago, Isa Tamaev, a staff member of a regiment for security of an oil and gas complex, was invited to a wedding party of his friend and fired several shots from a submachine gun. As a result, one of the bullets hit the roof of a neighbouring house.

"By his actions, the policeman not only violated the service discipline and ignored the ban imposed by the MIA's senior officials, but he also posed a threat to the lives of citizens," reports a spokesperson of the Chechen MIA.

He has also noted that in Chechnya, the ban on use of service weapons during wedding parties by law enforcers was imposed yet in 2012 in connection with numerous facts of injuries and some cases of deaths during wedding parties.
