In Yessentuki, people affected by fire treat their house as unfit for accommodation

In Yessentuki, apartments on the seventh floor of the residential building affected by a major fire have been completely destroyed, and after fire-fighters had extinguished the fire, the below floors were flooded, furniture was severely damaged, and mould appeared in the apartments. This was reported by tenants of the residential building. Three victims of the fire were evicted from the sanatorium, where they were accommodated after the fire.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after at night of August 29, a fire occurred in a house in Engels Street in the city of Yessentuki, 215 people were left homeless. 34 victims of the fire were accommodated at sanatoria, and the rest stayed with their relatives and friends. The fire killed two women, including the suspected culprit of the fire, who fell asleep with a cigarette.

In the residential building, the apartments from the first to the sixth floors have already been occupied, reports Nikolai, an owner of an apartment on the top floor.

The house is not suitable for accommodation of people, believes Tatiana, a tenant of an apartment on the fifth floor. According to her, water still leaks between the floors.

"We have no gas and no hot water supply. We have no chances to cook meals or to take a shower. Wallpapers fell down, furniture items are wet, and we had to throw them out," said Tatiana.

According to Yuri, one of the victims of the fire, he was forcibly evicted from the sanatorium. Meanwhile, the apartment of the man has been completely burnt out, and he cannot return there.

On September 8, Nikolai visited his apartment together with members of the interdepartmental commission to assess the damage. They recorded on video the damaged domestic equipment, burnt-out walls and furniture and made an inventory of the damaged property. The interdepartmental commission has promised to grant compensation. According to Nikolai, the compensation is to amount up to 50,000 roubles.
