In Volzhsky, police start administrative proceedings against agitators of "Parnas" Party
In the town of Volzhsky, the police instituted administrative proceedings against three agitators of the "Parnas" Party, detained on September 7. They are accused of placing campaign materials in violation of the electoral laws. Members of the "Parnas" Party have claimed facing obstacles in the pre-election campaign.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the voting at the elections to the State Duma will be held on September 18, 2016. In August, a working group of the Volgograd regional election commission recognized illegal the campaign materials of Igor Konotopov and Vadim Merkulov, candidates from the "Parnas" Party.
According to Alexei Reshetnyak, an agitator of the "Parnas" Party, he and two other party agitators were detained while placing the leaflets at an information board at a bus station.
Anton Rudenko, one of the detainees, has said that the agitators "were voluntarily-forcibly loaded into a police UAZ car and taken to the police station."
Igor Konotopov has noted that earlier, the Volzhsky city administration has banned the campaign in front of the cinema "Sputnik" with reference to the fact that the place was allegedly occupied by agitators from the CPRF and the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party.
The candidate to the State Duma has addressed a complaint to Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC), with a request to cancel the decision of the election commission of the Volgograd Region.
