50 Sochi residents demand to connect their houses to electricity supply

In Sochi, for more than two months, the power supply to residents of houses in Volodarsky Street has been cut off because of a private person, who declared himself to be an owner of a transforming substation. Local residents have appealed to the Prosecutor's Office with a request to intervene in the situation.

The appropriate report came to the SMS service of the "Caucasian Knot". According to the SMS authors, the law enforcement bodies "do not respond to the complaint."

On September 4, about 50 people from Volodarsky Street, located in the vicinity of the villages of Kashtany and Khleborob came to a gathering to discuss their further existence without electricity supply, which had been cut off by former Ataman Igor Potekhin.

"We care of small children, grandchildren. There are sick and elderly people among us, and we stay without hot food, air conditioning, and electricity," said Olga Olezhko, an owner of the house.

The former Ataman has declared himself to be an owner of the transforming substation. However, he failed to present any confirming documents, reports Andrei Ardyntsev, a local resident.

"He demands 150,000 roubles from each house to restore the power supply, although we have long ago paid for the construction of the transforming substation and paid for electricity supply," noted Andrei Ardyntsev. According to him, the former Ataman was to hand the raised money over to the "Kubanenergosbyt". However, the local residents are still not aware if he did so.
