In Adjaria, houses and roads flooded after heavy rains

As a result of heavy rains, which occurred this night, houses and land plots in Kvariati, Gonio and Akhalsopeli were flooded, report local residents.

According to residents of Adjaria, yards and first floors of houses were flooded. The rescue teams carried out works on pumping water out of the yards and basements of the houses. The calculation of the damage will be presumably started on September 5, the "Georgia-Online" reports.

Traffic on the highway Sarpi-Batumi was also limited because of rains and landslides, the "InterPressNews" reports with reference to Mamuka Turmanidze, the chief of the Adjarian Agency for Emergencies.
