Court refuses to reveal place of burial of men killed in attack on Nalchik

The Nalchik City Court has dismissed three claims filed by relatives of the men accused of the attack on Nalchik, who demanded to reveal the burial place of the deceased men. In total, 15 claims were filed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the relatives of the men killed during the special operation carried out on October 13, 2005, demanded from the government of Kabardino-Balkaria to reveal the place of burial. The plaintiffs demanded to recognize unlawful the actions of the official who had violated their right of access to information.

Lawyers of the "Legal Initiative" treat as unaccepted the consideration of the claims in the absence of the plaintiffs and their representatives.

Let us remind you that in the responses to the claims, the Court has indicated that the leader of the republic and his administration "are not the bodies engaged in concealment of information about the place of burial of the persons whose deaths resulted from the measures to prevent the terror act committed by them" and that they do not have the requested information.

The decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) of 2014 allowed the relatives of the killed persons suspected of terrorism, to repeatedly demand from the Russian authorities to provide them with the information about the places of their burial, notes Rustam Matsev, a lawyer of the human rights organization "Legal Initiative".
