General Prosecutor's Office orders to close criminal case against top-managers of "Domodedovo" Airport

Alexander Gutsan, Acting General Prosecutor of Russia, has addressed to the Chairman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) the resolution to stop the criminal proceedings against Dmitry Kamenschik, a co-owner of the "Domodedovo" Airport, and the airport top-managers, charged in the case on the terror act at the "Domodedovo" Airport. According to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, the decision made by the General Prosecutor is to be treated as final.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 1, the Presidium of the Moscow City Court released from house arrest Dmitry Kamenschik, a co-owner of the "Domodedovo" Airport. On the same day, the Basmanny Court of Moscow dismissed the investigators' request to extend the house arrests of Vyacheslav Nekrasov and Andrei Danilov, the director and the former chief of the security service of the "Domodedovo" Airport, respectively.

On January 24, 2011, the explosion at "Domodedovo" killed 37 people and wounded 172 others. According to investigators, the explosive device was triggered by a suicide bomber Magomed Evloev.

Dmitry Kamenschik, Vyacheslav Nekrasov, Andrei Danilov, and Svetlana Trishina, a top-manager of the "Domodedovo" Airport were charged of poor organization of inspection of visitors, which, according to the investigators, failed to prevent the terror act at the "Domodedovo" Airport on January 24, 2011.
