Nagorno-Karabakh pays tribute to memory of killed and missing persons

371 people are included in the list of the Red Cross mission in Stepanakert as missing from the Karabakh side. This was reported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2015, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) presented an updated list of people missing in the Karabakh conflict zone before the entry into force of the ceasefire in 1994. According to the list, out of 4496 missing people, 405 were registered by the ICRC office in Yerevan, 372 by the Red Cross mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, and 3719 by the ICRC representative office in Azerbaijan.

Today, in Stepanakert, people have held the ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Memorial complex to the monument to victims killed and missing during the Karabakh war.

"Officially, more than 700 citizens of Artsakh are included in the list of missing persons. Of them, more than 200 are soldiers and officers, and others are civilians," notes Viktor Kocharyan, the chairman of the Nagorno-Karabakh State Commission on Prisoners of War and Missing Persons.

Viktor Kocharyan has also reported that last year, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides exchanged the lists of missing persons; however, after that no joint searches were carried out.
