Children from Armenia cannot leave Sochi for three days

Since June 25, 25 members of the band "Hay Art" cannot travel through Georgia to Armenia, since a section of the Georgian Military Road is closed. The children have to raise money to pay for tickets for a "Comet" ship to travel to Batumi, and thus they organize concerts on beaches of Sochi. This was reported by their teachers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 23, the traffic on the road section Vladikavkaz-Lars was closed because of a landslide in Georgia.

According to Kristina Akopyan, a member of the parent committee of the band "Hay Art", their dance ensemble arrived from Yerevan to Sochi to take part in the international festival "Sochi. Art. World" held on June 19.

Kristina Akopyan has noted that members of the dance ensemble, their parents and teachers "had to go back to the hotel, since they had nowhere to go in a strange city."

According to Narine Torgomyan, a teacher of the dance ensemble, after the section of the Georgian Military Road had been closed, prices for travel on the "Comet" ship for Sochi-Batumi route "rose sharply overnight."

The teachers note that they are not able to deliver children to Yerevan by plane, since "many children do not have powers of attorney from their parents to be accompanied by other people."

The teachers of the dance ensemble members also believe that "the road through Abkhazia to Georgia is closed to them." According to them, "the children are very scared and contact only by mobile phones their parents who could not go with them."

As of June 27, the amount of a little more than 90,000 roubles has been raised for travelling home, report the teachers of the dance ensemble members.
