Armenian activists protest against air defence agreement

In Yerevan, during the protest action held in front of the Parliament of Armenia, protesters have voiced the demand to abandon ratification of the Armenian-Russian agreement on the unified air defence system. The protest action takes place against the background of the discussion of the agreement at the Parliament.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 13, the Armenian Parliament was to consider the issue on ratification of the agreement on air defence. On the same day, a protest action was held in front of the building of the Parliament. It was finished after the Parliament did not include in the agenda of the session the discussion on ratification of the agreement on air defence.

Participants of the protest action believe that in case of new military aggression from Azerbaijan, the enemy will use aircrafts, and Armenia will not be able to make independent decisions for the use of its own air defence system.
