NKR blames Azerbaijan for new shelling

Last night Azerbaijani troops were shelling positions of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) from small arms, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the unrecognized republic has stated today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the last 24 hours the Azerbaijani party counted nine violations of the armistice by the opponent.

This night, the NKR's MoD characterized the situation on the contact line of troops as relatively calm.

According to the MoD, the ceasefire was violated only by the Azerbaijani militaries, who used small arms, the "Tert.am" reports.

On June 20, Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed, with Mr Putin as mediator, to increase the number of OSCE observers in the conflict zone. So far, the parties continue regularly exchanging accusations of violating the armistice signed on April 5.
