Chechen families settled in village built in a hurry

Members of 17 families from the village of Tsa-Vedeno, who lost their homes as a result of a landslide, are settled in the new houses, built during less than two weeks. Employees of the construction sector interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" express their concern that the accelerated pace of the construction of the houses may have a negative impact on their quality.

On June 24, a ceremony of the opening of the village took place, and it was attended by Chechen officials. According to an official of the village administration, the houses are supplied with gas, water, and electricity, and they are completely prepared for accommodation of people.

The construction of the village in Tsa-Vedeno and other houses for the people affected by landslides is financed by the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, the "TASS" reports.

Employees of the construction sector suggest that in the near future, the residents of the new village in the Vedeno District may face the problems associated with the poor quality of their houses.

"I do not know who made the decision to build and deliver the houses as 'ready-to-operate' during two weeks. However, they are clearly not experts in the sphere of construction. They built walls on still damp foundations and covered them with roofs. The houses may eventually start to creak at the seams, let alone the fact that such houses will be wet, since crude concrete actively absorbs moisture. To be honest, I do not envy the owners of those houses. It's just an ostentatious construction, and it is very difficult to predict its consequences," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Vakha, a former employee of the Chechen Ministry of Construction.
