Badrudin Musaev pleads not guilty in use of violence against policemen

Badrudin Musaev, a son of the Mayor of Makhachkala, does not plead guilty under the charge of use of violence dangerous to life and health of policemen, filed against him. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Akhkubek Kolov, an advocate of Badrudin Musaev.

The traffic conflict involving the son of the Mayor of Makhachkala occurred on May 31. According to sources from the law enforcement bodies, in the course of the detention of the young people, including the son of the Mayor, one of the policemen got his finger broken, and two other policemen got injuries. The investigators opened a criminal case under the article on the use of violence against a public official.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Badrudin Musaev was charged under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (use of violence dangerous to life or health against a public official in connection with the performance of his or her official duties). On June 20, the court dismissed the investigators' request to take Badrudin Musaev into custody.

According to Akhkubek Kolov, the advocate of Badrudin Musaev, the criminal case contains a lot of conflicting evidences.

"My client and his friends tell me a different version of the incident, which contradicts the story of inspectors of the road police (known as GIBDD)," Akhkubek Kolov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

In particular, according to the advocate, it was not Badrudin Musaev, who was driving the car, which violated the traffic regulations and was stopped by the policemen.
