Resident of Kabardino-Balkaria detained on suspicion of plotting terror act

Law enforcers have detained a resident of Baksan, who, according to their version, is involved in the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned Russia. A bomb was found in the course of the search in the suspect's house, reports a source from the law enforcement bodies.

According to the source, the detainee is 19 years old. At his house, the suspect kept a ready-to-use bomb with power of about three kilograms of TNT equivalent. Besides, the law enforcers discovered in his house a mini-laboratory for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Combat engineers destroyed the IED at the place. The detainee has confessed that he was manufacturing an IED under the instructions of IS members, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to a source. The young man studies at the medical college and lives with his mother, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.
