Two attackers of Navalny in Anapa found guilty of petty hooliganism

The court has ruled to bring two of the attackers on Alexei Navalny, the head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACF), and his staff to administrative responsibility for disorderly conduct (petty hooliganism). The cases of ten Cossacks and one ACF employee have been sent to the Magistrate Court.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the attack on Alexei Navalny, the head of the ACF, and his staff, who were on tourist trip in the Krasnodar Territory, was committed in Anapa Airport on May 17. According to ACF employees, they were attacked by Cossacks; however, the latter claim that the members of Anapa District Cossack Society tried to stop a brawl at the airport. According to the police, during the brawl six ACF employees suffered; one of them was hospitalized.

The Anapa conflict of local residents with the ACF staff was provoked by Cossacks and must be qualified as hooliganism, said the lawyers, earlier interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The police have established two attackers: they are "unemployed I. F. Manaenkov and V. V. Atamanyuk, who are not Cossacks." According to the MIA, on June 2, "for throwing milk packs at ACF employees" they were brought to administrative responsibility under Article 20.1 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (petty hooliganism).

On June 6, the case of the ACF employee Alexander Anoshkin, who caused a light harm to the health of "N. D. Nesterenko, the cosh ataman of the Anapa City Cossack Society," was sent to the magistrate judge, says the MIA's response posted on Dmitri Gudkov's Facebook page.

The MP Gudkov himself was dissatisfied with the results of the check: in his opinion, the decision not to really punish the attackers was initiated by local authorities.
