Explosion in Novy Khushet becomes the fifth attack on law enforcers near village in five years

The explosion of a police car in the village of Novy Khushet which occurred last night became at least the fifth attack on law enforcers committed in the vicinity of the village during five years. Since April 2011, law enforcers carried out at least four special operations in the village, during which leaders of the "Makhachkala" militant grouping were mentioned among the number of killed men.

The power of the explosion was 200 grams of TNT equivalent. No one was injured, and the car was not damaged. The incident was classified as "hooliganism", reports a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan.

According to the "Caucasian Knot", since April 2011, the today's incident was preceded by five attacks on law enforcers and four major special operations.

On March 29, 2016, at the section of the federal highway "Kavkaz" near the "Uitash" Airport and the village of Novy Khushet, two cars with law enforcers from Krasnoyarsk were blown up. According to the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), one person was killed, and two others were wounded.

On November 7, 2015, in Novy Khushet, two private security guards were attacked when they were inspecting the railroad. According to the Operational Headquarters in Dagestan, one of them was killed, and another was wounded.

On August 17, 2015, a district police inspector was shelled and killed in the village of Novy Khushet.

On November 26, 2013, as a result of the special operation in Novy Khushet, three members of the "Makhachkala" militant grouping were killed.

On January 12, 2013, in the course of a special operation in the village, a man was killed. According to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), he was a member of the "Kadar" criminal grouping.

On April 22, 2012, a suspected militant was killed in the village. He was identified as a member of the "Gubden" criminal grouping.

On January 15, 2012, a police car was shelled near the village. No one was injured.

On April 20, 2011, in the village of Novy Khushet, a suspected militant was killed. He was identified as Sabitbai (Sabitbi) Amanov, a close associate of Said Buryatsky, a militant ideologist, killed in Ingushetia, who was the major demolition man in the ranks of the Dagestani armed underground.
