Residents of Sochi village report on severe damage from flooding

As a result of the flooding, orchards and gardens, which were the only source of income for many residents of the village of Alekseevka of the Krasnodar Territory, were destroyed. This was reported by local residents. According to them, the people were not warned about the threatening disaster.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4, in Sochi rain showers caused mudflows and flooding of streets. Rescuers evacuated 29 people from the village of Tkhagapsh.

Natalia Tychenko, a resident of the village of Alekseevka, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her house was affected by the main stroke of the disaster. According to the woman, the orchard and garden were completely destroyed, and instead of them, she got heaps of stones, residues of trees, sludge, and mud.

The woman has explained that for the residents of Alekseevka, orchards and gardens are actually the only source of income.

"My husband has a small salary, and we have three children. We always hoped for our garden, and it used to feed us at least during summer months. And now, it will take a long time from us to put it in order," notes Natalia Tychenko.

Alekseev spouses, residents of Alekseevka, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they spent almost a year saving money from their pensions to build a greenhouse. However, it was washed away by the mudflow.

According to the Alekseev spouses, their orchard is completely lost and their young peach, apple and pear trees are destroyed by the mudflow.

In their conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the local residents have noted that they do not believe in the real help of the local authorities and that they have started to clean their houses by themselves.
