Group of journalists detained in Sochi

Alexander Valov, the editor-in-chief of the "BlogSochi", and a group of American television journalists have been detained by FSB agents in the settlement of Vesyoloe-Psou. They are accused of breaking the border regime.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sochi residents had been reporting since 2011 about the derelict condition and misuse of the houses in Vesyoloe-Psou, which belong to the so-called "Olympic Legacy Fund". On May 30, at the Mayoralty, some members of the commission in charge of investigating the complaints on the situation in the settlement refused to sign the conclusion on the above houses.

On June 2, 11 cottages were sold out in the settlement. Today, Vesyoloe-Psou was visited by Alexander Valov, US journalists and interpreter Dmitri Saltykovsky – eight persons in total. In Khudyakov Street, they were approached by power agents dressed in special uniforms with no markings, and without any explanations demanded from them to get into the automobile, said Mr Valov.

According to his story, now, the detainees are "in the house of the border department at the checkpoint Vesyoloe-Psou.
