Advocate advises Interpol to seek Mukhudinov in Chechnya

A Chechen officer Ruslan Mukhudinov, accused of organizing the murder of Boris Nemtsov, is very likely in the territory of Chechnya, said Vadim Prokhorov, the advocate of the Nemtsov family, in his comment on the Interpol's consent to declare Mukhudinov wanted. He is sceptical about the chances to detain Mukhudinov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Interpol had declared wanted the 29-year-old Russian citizen Ruslan Mukhudinov, a figurant in Boris Nemtsov's murder case. The Interpol has issued a "red card" – a request to detain and extradite Mukhudinov to Russia.

Investigators believe that Ruslan Mukhudinov, an officer of the Chechen battalion "Sever" (North), was the customer of the murder; he had been accused in absentia.

Mukhudinov "very likely is in the territory of Chechnya, if still alive," said Vadim Prokhorov, adding that Mukhudinov is not the key figure and "they need to search for Ruslan Geremeev, whose driver Mukhudinov was." According to the advocate, they "should be sought in Chechnya, since Geremeev is a member of the closest retinue of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov," the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Earlier, the advocates of the injured party had repeatedly stated that they treated as incorrect the investigators' conclusions that Mukhudinov had been the customer of the murder. According to the advocates, the investigators are trying to divert the blow from Kadyrov's nearest entourage; while Mukhudinov and Geremeev are hiding in Chechnya.
