Yunus-Bek Evkurov refuses to name four detained IS militants

Four local residents detained on May 21 in Ingushetia were not militants, but their accomplices. This has been reported today by the leader of the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 21, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) announced the detention in Ingushetia of four members of an underground grouping associated with the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS). The grouping was created "to commit crimes against public officials, law enforcers, and supporters of the traditional concept of Islam," states the NAC.

According to Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the detainees "were not active members of the armed underground, but they were only accomplices and ideologues of various ideas." "The detainees cooperate with investigators and have already confessed," added the Ingush leader.

"I believe they will also sign a pre-trial agreement. They have already confessed, and due to their confessions law enforcers discovered three hidings of militants," said Yunus-Bek Evkurov.
