In Krasnodar Territory, commission to consider arguments of public activists about misuse of Olympic heritage
The administration of the Krasnodar Territory has created a commission to consider complaints about misuse of apartment houses and cottage settlements, built in Sochi in preparation for the Olympic Games.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of the "Olympic" village in Sochi claimed its derelict condition and misuse since 2011. During re-inspection held in April 2016, activists claimed that no actions were taken to eliminate violations.
According to the order, the newly established commission should give an opinion by May 30.
Igor Vasilev, the assistant to Sergey Obukhov, a State Duma deputy, has said that he expects the committee will "restore order in the sphere of allocation of social housing and solution of one of the pressing problems of Sochi the need to allocate housing to people from waiting list."
The public activists have demanded to carry out first and foremost a complete inventory of the objects of the Olympic heritage.
