Nagorno-Karabakh accuses Azerbaijan of breaking ceasefire
Last night, the Azerbaijani armed forces were shelling the contact line from mortar and grenade launchers. This has been reported today by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated. The parties to the conflict were engaged in combat actions with the use of tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, and aircrafts, which resulted in a large number of victims. On April 5, the sides to the conflict declared a truce; however, they periodically accuse each other of violation of agreements on ceasefire.
"The enemy continued to violate the ceasefire and used small arms of various calibres, 60-millimetre and 82-millimetre mortar launchers and anti-tank hand grenade launchers," the "Sputnik Armenia" quotes the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh as reporting.
According to the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh, the leading units of the Artsakh Defence Army control the situation and continue to confidently perform their combat mission, the "Armenia Today" reports.
Till present, no comments from the MoD of Azerbaijan concerning the above statement are available. However, earlier, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported on 142 cases of ceasefire violation committed by the Armenian armed forces during a day.
