"Rostov" is fighting for championship, contrary to bookmakers’ and experts’ forecasts
Bookmakers estimate the chances of the "Rostov" Football Club (FC) to win the football championship of Russia as 1 to 10 (coefficient 10.0). Today, the "Rostov" FC will get a chance to be in the lead the standing again at the background of its problems with financing and fans’ excitement.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the success of the “Rostov” FC has become one of the major surprises of the Russian Premier League. The club is fighting for the victory in the championship and hopes to get into the UEFA Champions League; currently, it is 2 points behind the leader – the CSKA FC from Moscow.
Bookmakers believe that the CSKA’s has the highest chance to win the championship (coefficient of 1.35); then go "Zenith" and "Krasnodar" (coefficients 5.45 and 7.70, accordingly). These figures are borrowed from bookmakers’ websites.
Local businessman Ivan Savvidi claims that he and his partners "during the past six months invested over 600 million roubles into the development of the ‘Rostov’ FC." He says that the club’s task is at least to qualify for the Europa League.
On April 26, Vitaly Mutko, the President of the Russian Football Union, said, in his turn, that the "Rostov" FC has no significant debts.
Ali Uzdenov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the FC, has confirmed that "the club is looking for sponsors, who could pull the team out the debt pit."
In his turn, Ivan Bodylevsky, the press attaché of the FC, stated, in his turn, “the hype in the stadium stands in Rostov-on-Don."
