Organizer of Sochi picket is still under intensive care
Elena Nikitina, the organizer of the April 29 picket in the Lazarevskoye District, is still in the intensive care unit, as prescribed by her doctors. After discharge from the hospital, she intends to appeal to the prosecutor's office with a complaint about policemen's actions, said her advocate.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 29 residents of the Lazarevskoye District staged a picket demanding to open a roofed pedestrian walkway. The police dispersed the picket, although it was peaceful, and the administration of the city had been notified about it, said Elena Nikitina, the organizer. After the dispersal, she was taken to hospital with a suspected stroke.
Elena Nikitina remains in the intensive care unit, because of a possible stroke, said her advocate Igor Kovtun. According to the woman, in was for the policemen's actions that she got there.
According to Alexander Boichenko, a Sochi lawyer, an attempt to detain Elena Nikitina may be qualified as an excess of powers.
