Ramazan Djalaldinov asks GPO head to check Kadyrov

Ramazan Djalaldinov, the author of the video message to President of Russia about corruption in the Chechen village of Kenkhi, wrote an appeal to Yuri Chaika, the head of the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO), with a complaint about the insult of him by Ramzan Kadyrov, the acting head of the republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Djalaldinov's video message to Vladimir Putin was posted on the YouTube on April 14.

On April 16, Kenkhi villagers held a gathering, where they publicly condemned Djalaldinov and treated his words as a slander. After that, the Chechen mass media began publishing materials, which refuted Djalaldinov's statements.

Ramazan Djalaldinov said in his appeal posted in the social network "VKontakte" that Kadyrov had issued a video, in which he insulted him.

Djalaldinov asserts that starting from 2006 he had repeatedly written complaints to President of Russia, and in 2007, for that he was sentenced to 2.5 years of conditional imprisonment. After his second complaint, the man asserts, he was arrested for 13 days. In 2011, the court awarded him with five conditional years for resisting the authorities, but later changed the sentence to three years of real imprisonment at general regime jail, later reducing this term down to 1.5 years.

According to Djalaldinov, for several times he came to the Russian President's reception office; tried to complain to human rights organizations, but all his attempts were fruitless.

Earlier, Magdi Kamalov, the founder of the weekly "Chernovik" (Draft), said that Djalaldinov is an adequate person, and he was in real danger.

Ramazan Djalaldinov is now outside of Chechnya, Vasily Polonsky, a journalist of the "Dozhd" TV Company, reported on April 30.
