Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of preparing aggression

Azerbaijan is accumulating its military equipment and manpower across the whole contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh, Eduard Nalbandyan, the head of the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs (MFA), during his visit to Finland.

At night on April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone sharply escalated, and the warfare began. On April 5, the parties declared an armistice. However, every day, the parties to the conflict blame each other of violating the armistice.

According to Mr Nalbandyan, the Armenian party is committed to the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict through the resumption of negotiations. To do this, in his words, it is necessary to introduce mechanisms for investigating incidents at the border.

The accumulation of Azerbaijani heavy military machinery and troops along the whole contact line was confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Artsrun Ovannisyan, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia. He noted that the Armenian party is monitoring the movements of Azerbaijani troops and equipment and keep the situation under control.
