Azerbaijan: authorities promise to rebuild houses damaged by shelling

The Terter District of Azerbaijan has resumed power supply to 11 villages, broken because of the damage of a substation as a result of shelling. The houses damaged by shelling will be repaired at the expense of the state, officials said.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported today that a source from the Terter district administration said that starting late evening on April 26 and throughout the night, the city of Terter and a number of front-line villages were exposed to artillery shelling. According to the source, one of the shells exploded near an electrical substation and damaged it. As a result, 11 villages were de-energized.

The source has added to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the substation was quickly repaired. "Already by the lunch time, power supply to all 11 villages was resumed," he said.

According to his story, in total, the night shelling has destroyed seven private houses, located in the city of Terter and in the villages of Yukhary, Gapanly, Askipara and Chaily. The source has added that "the citizens' houses will be rebuilt at the cost of the state."
