Russian Consulate in Istanbul has no information about Makharbi Isaev
According to Andrei Podelyshev, Consul General of Russia in Istanbul, the Russian mission received no official documents, mentioning the name of Makharbi Isaev, a native of Chechnya, and no information reporting his detention in Istanbul.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 24, with reference to its sources, the Turkish newspaper "Milliyet" disseminated the information about the detention in Istanbul of Makharbi Isaev, who arrived in Turkey by plane "to eliminate the Chechens living in the country." According to the newspaper sources, during the search of the man, Turkish law enforcers found documents, digital equipment, and a pistol of 7.65 mm calibre.
"We have no information regarding the detention of this very person. We saw no official papers, mentioning the surname of Isaev," Andrei Podelyshev has stated as quoted by the "TASS".
It should be noted that, according to the law enforcement authorities, Makharbi (Magarbi) Isaev, born in 1989, was detained during a special operation in the Vedeno District on September 18, 2012. In September 2012, law enforcers reported that due to the testimony given by Makharbi Isaev, they had revealed the whereabouts of militants from the grouping of Muslim Gakaev (killed in January 2013).
Since September 2012, no information on the Makharbi Isaev's fate has ever been reported.
