"Milliyet": suspected killer from Chechnya detained in Istanbul

Makharbi Isaev, detained in Istanbul, has arrived in Turkey by plane to eliminate former Chechen militants, reports today the Turkish newspaper "Milliyet" with reference to its sources.

According to sources of the Turkish newspaper, the operation to detain Makharbi Isaev, born in 1989, was carried out by policemen and staff members of the National Intelligence Service of Turkey.

The Russian citizen arrived in Istanbul about a week ago, and he was arrested in a hotel room in the city centre. According to the Turkish newspaper sources, during the search of the man, Turkish law enforcers found documents, digital equipment, and a pistol of 7.65 mm calibre.

Makharbi Isaev arrived in Turkey by plane "to eliminate the Chechens living in the country", reports today the Turkish newspaper with reference to its sources.

Meanwhile, on its website, the Turkish newspaper has published a scan copy of the passport of the Russian citizen detained in Istanbul. According to the scan copy, Makharbi Tepsurkaevich Isaev was born in the Chechen-Ingush ASSR (AutonomousSovietSocialistRepublic) on March 5, 1989.
